Excerpt from Body Image Workshop By Sonia Mckoy
An image is an idea or belief we have about someone or something. Our body image has two components, self image, which are the thoughts and feelings we have about our self and public image, which is how we want others to see us. We apply these ideas and beliefs to our like and they form the basis of our perceptions, dreams, expectations, assumptions, and desires.
